Ron Kennedy

My Background

I studied television production at Ravensbourne College of Art and Design between 1973 - 1975 followed by a TEC course in telecommunications a few years later.

My career started at Charing Cross Hospital Medical School in the Dept of Medical Illustration editing for the late John Metcalfe. Together we pioneered the use of television in medical photography.

For over twenty years I have worked freelance shooting and editing for major clients such as CNN, the BBC and ITN. Although not formally trained as a journalist I applied my experience by researching and shooting my own reports for WTN's “Roving Report”, a former current affairs programme seen throughout the world

I directed “May The Technique Be With You”,  which was first shown on ITV. This was followed by
"D - Day Heroes", which commemorated the 50th Anniversary of the Normandy landings. Since then the programme has been aired both the History Channel and Discovery.
